Aspero Sports, New German Soccer Boot Company

Aspero Sports, the new German soccer company?
At the moment, I do not know alot about the company but it is very interesting to see new boots/technology in the world of soccer.

Specs of the boot:
According to the Aspero Sports which is translated from German to English.

The P01 Aspero developed specifically for the surface in the forefoot provides more control and increases the rotation of the ball. The patented coating allows the P01, that is not affected even in poor weather conditions, the space and precision in the ball. In addition, the ETC improved the firing properties. The accelerated rotation of the ball with less effort, each shot to the goalkeeper is difficult to predict.

Ball Control System. (BCS)
Our simple but brilliant idea! Two on the tension elements attached the lead in the parallel course of every ball in the pass and the shot purposefully. The chip compensation of the shoe makes it possible. The ball-control system adjusts the tension convex shape of each foot, providing for every ball an enlarged contact area. Uncontrolled pass or shot, for example at full tension is reduced to a minimum. In addition, foreign and instep to improve shooting techniques by the cornering of the elements. A larger contact area makes it possible.

In the end, this boot reminds me of the other new boot from Concave Sports (below). Rather then go with flashy colors or put out a speed boot; these companies are trying to change the game of soccer and make players better. Makes you wonder if this idea takes off, will adidas buy this smaller company like Nike did with Umbro to gain market share?

It’s ‘Tiempo’ Time

Nike Soccer in 1992 was irrelevant. Shown below is a early model of the Tiempo Pro M

Prior to the 1994 World Cup, Nike’s soccer footwear collection was not something to brag about. In fact the line of shoes they produced before that was irrelevant in the eyes of football fans. However, in 1994 that changed when Nike got together as a collective group and redesigned what they thought was their best boot to date; which was the Tiempo Premier.

Rather than make the same mistake twice, Nike moved its footwear factory from Italy to Thailand, and kept a close watch on each pair of boots made. In the end, Nike was able to revamp the boot that would easily be their best soccer shoe to date.
Thoughts on the boot from Dave Daly the general manager of Nike Soccer at the time; “I felt at least from a quality perspective, the Tiempo Premier was the first one where we actually made a shoe the athletes around the world actually wanted to wear,” said Daly. “They didn’t wear it because they thought Nike was cool or because we paid them. They actually wore it because they liked it.”

The result, the Tiempo Premier was the boot worn in the 1994 World Cup Final by 10 Brazilians (9 on the pitch and a young Ronaldo who did not see action) and Italy’s Pablo Maldini on July 17th 1994. On that day, Nike had the world’s best forward Romario going head to head with the great Maldini.

Fast forward, since 1994 the Tiempo series has evolved with the game of soccer. In this day in age players need every advantage they can get on the pitch, and like the game of soccer Nike has evolved to help its athletes along the way.

In the end, here is a sample of the next Tiempo and where Nike is taking the boot. Boot includes an upper with fly wire and a carbon fiber outsole to decrease the overall weight of the boot.

What do you think about the boot? Should Nike keep this shoe classic or update it to the modern game of football where speed kills.

NEW Adidas Adipure IV

Sneak peak of the Adidas Adipure IV. It will be one of the best classic k-leather boots on the market in 2011.

Footy Guru- Review of the adiPURE III: "At the moment, the adiPURE III is the best boot on the market. Based on style, performance, durability, and value no other shoe comes close. Over the past couple months, I have had the opportunity to test the adiPURE in games and practices and it has been excellent since the first time I put it on. With full grain Kangaroo leather the upper is extremely soft and provides an excellent touch/feel on the ball. Adidas has also redesigned the tongue, and moved away from the wrap around tongue to the more traditional movable tongue. The adiPure III like the second version features asymmetrical lacing which results in a cleaner/larger striking area. In the end, if you want a classic boot, that offers extreme durability and the best performance at realistic price, the adiPURE is the shoe for you".

What do you think about the style, looks, and value of the NEW Adidas Adipure IV?

Nike CTR 360 Maestri II

Nike are set to release the CTR 360 Maestri II. According to the Footy Gods and footyboots.com the first CTR was voted boot of the year for 2010. However, I think that the adidas adiZERO F50 should of been the boot chosen for boot of the year due to the popular demand of professional footballers all over the world using them. In the end, here is a sneak peak of the Nike CTR 360 Maestri II.

Umbro GT Pro Review

Umbro GT Pro

  • Style:9

  • Performance: 10

  • Technology: 9

  • Comfort: 9.5

  • Responsiveness: 9

  • Durability: 8.5

  • Value: 9.5

  • Overall score:64.5/70

    • Review:

Since being taken over by Nike, Umbro have made a splash in the soccer boot market in recent months with boots such as the reinvented Umbro Speciali and the Stealth Pro after being left in the dark for what seemed like decades. However, Umbro have come out with their newest boot, the GT Pro that I have been testing the past four months. In addition, these boots are the lightest that Umbro have ever made at 8.3 oz. and some of the features that they boast are a Teijin Microfiber upper which reduces the overall weight of the boot. Along with the ‘A Frame Cradle’ technology that acts as a support system, similar to Flywire connecting the soleplate up along either side of the boot to the laces, so that you have more support and it brings the boot closer to your foot.

When I first received these boots I was a little skeptical, but after testing them I admit I am now a huge fan. The boots were stylish, easy to break in and extremely effective on the field. With this boot, Umbro have done all of the little things right. The technology, style, comfort and price of this boot make it one of the most under rated speed boots on the market in my opinion. All around, the combination of the light Teijin Microfiber upper, cradle technology, along with the narrow last makes the Umbro GT Pro the ideal lightweight performance product built for speed.
In the end, the GT Pro is a blend of the classic Umbro look injected with Nike’s bold color ways and newest footwear technology. Since being bought by Nike the Umbro releases have improved in style/technology and in my opinion the GT Pro is another building block for the brand. Furthermore, I believe the GT Pro will offer a point of difference in soccer specialty and help Nike Soccer gain edge over Adidas.

      Changes in performance/profitability:
Put this boot in soccer specialty stores, throughout North America.
Come out with more bold/flashy color ways to get consumers interested. Would be cool in an England or Ireland color way.
Product placement: Put this boot on more professional players.
Change in upper for different ball feel; kanga-lite or k-leather maybe.
Carbon fiber outsole to decrease weight of boot even more.
Make a hybrid version of the GT Pro and Super Fly. An elite combination of Umbro and Nike Football.

      2011 Adidas Predator 'Kinetic'

Here are some pictures of the next Predator that is poised to launch in 2011. The name floating around that people are calling the boot is the Predator “Kinetic”. It features a hybrid design in that it looks like adidas went back to its roots and put a combination of three boots into this next boot. Its retro design reminds me of the adidas World Cup/Copa Mundial with a sole plate of the new F50 adiZERO. In the end, I am excited to see how this boot turns out because to me as a player and a footy fan the Predator X lacked style, innovation, and was not ground breaking like you come to expect with the Predator series.
If I had to guess, I think this will be the lightest Predator ever made…

      Umbro GT Pro

Introducing Umbro's first speed boot; the super-lighweight GTPro, the lightest boots they've ever made weighing just 236 grams.

The Umbro GT Pro, which I believe is one of the most under rated speed boots on the market was just released in a new colorway; lime/black. I have been testing this boot for the past two months and love the style, weight, and comfort of the boot.
      Check out the boots!

      Preview: Adidas F50Adizero ‘Prime’

First boot spy of the adizero Prime this summer with Messi and other pros putting them to the test during the development process of the boot.

The adiZero Prime by adidas is understood by footy experts around the web to be the next version of the very increasingly popular F50 soccer boot. The word around the boot is that it will turn the football world upside down, and it will be the lightest boot on the market to start 2011. What I am saying is that if adidas is able to come through and deliver this boot and are able to make it even better than the current F50, then Nike and Puma will be left scratching their heads in the speed boot race which seems to be the recent fad in the football boot market.

      The questions everyone is asking;
How much is the boot going to weigh?
Will the upper only be K-leather or will they make a synthetic version of the boot?
Is messi already testing the boot?

As you can see, the boots have several different designs that vary from the current adidas F50 adiZero. For example, the adidas F50 adiZero Prime has a shortened but very visible 3-stripe logo that runs transversely down the side of the boot.

Another difference is the tongue color/variation compared to the rest of the boot which you can see from the pictures of the Black/White/Electric Green color way.

Another important difference is that it is rumored that the boot will weigh in at 4.6oz! Keep in mind that the current adidas adiZERO F50 is 5.8 oz. In the end, this boot will out do the Puma V1.10SL and the Nike Vapor Super Fly II in the speed race.

In addition, here are color ways/unreleased pictures of the boots that feature a synthetic upper. As for when they will launch, I have heard they will come out this Winter...

Let me know what you think about the boots...
